Where imagination grows
Our aim is to help the child understand, not force her to memorize, and so to touch her imagination as to enthuse her to her innermost core.
—Maria Montessori (paraphrased).

Our History
The Lindsay Centre for Preschool Enrichment (Lindsay Montessori Preschool) has had the pleasure of working with children from Lindsay and surrounding areas for over 30 years. Many studies discuss the importance of early brain stimulation and its benefits for years to come. A child’s brain develops most rapidly between 0 to 6 years of age. Our program assists children to develop the concepts needed for a good foundation prior to grade one.
Our Philosophy
We believe that it is our role, as Early Childhood Educators, to offer a stimulating environment that provides children with an opportunity to express their creativity, curiosity, and adventurous nature. It is our also our role to facilitate and assist each child in a way that encourages self-esteem, independence, and a love for learning. As educators, we must also value a love of learning, as we continue to grow both with the children and as individuals.

“All things are easy to understand once they are discovered. The point is to discover them.”
—Galileo Galilei
—Maria Montessori
Playing and learning are equally important and reinforce one another.
Our preschool has both a Montessori room and a Playroom. We encourage students to take what they’ve discovered in one area and apply it in the other. In so doing, the social, emotional, academic and physical aspects of learning come together to benefit the whole child. Children choose their own activities while encouraged to participate in all aspects of our program. Read more about the Montessori philosophy.
“My son has benefitted from this program in so many ways, I can’t wait for my daughter to attend.”
